SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY

We are a school that values SAFETY.

Delano is prioritizing Community Health and Wellbeing as our students return to school. The emotional and physical wellbeing of our students is imperative to staying healthy.

RETURN TO SCHOOL SAFELY

We support our students return to school, this new reality, times of uncertainty and readjusting from the changes to routines since March. We have a conservative safety plan with your child in mind. At Delano, the safety plan was prepared from the guidance and feedback of our direct stakeholders: our parents and faculty.

RETURN TO REMOTE SCHOOL

We also support a parents choice to continue with full-time remote education. Our school is able to effectively handle both models and we are proud of our flexible learning approach.

We will continue to reinforce Delano's FUTURE proof attitudes of resiliency, growth mindset, IB attitudes and 21-st century transferable skills.

INTELLIGENCE IS THE ABILITY TO ADAPT TO CHANGE.

Stephen Hawking

Leave it to a progressive school to know history, have the foresight to make predictions, the courage to create innovative change, and the flexibility to adapt.

Delano Academy decided to take an unprecedented action plan and prepared for the worst-case scenario of the possibility that schools would not reopen this year post March Break.

In March 2020, The Ontario Ministry of Education issued a mandatory school closure for public and private schools.

Our aggressive preparation plan worked out and streamlined an uninterrupted transition to remote learning for our students.

WHEN AN EMERGENCY STRIKES, THE TIME TO PREPARE HAS PASSED.

-Steven Cyros-

Preparedness meant that prior to the mandatory school closure order, our faculty  carefully crafted learning packages with necessary materials.

Then on March 14th, with safety in mind, families arrived for a contactless pick up of materials before heading off to March Break.

HERE WE GO

On March 23rd, we launched our synchronous platform and are teaching from our homes.

The building has closed but SCHOOL is open.

Our remote continuity plan continues and is a tremendous success!
